Drivin' My Life Away
I am a commercial truck driver-have been for 30 years. I can't believe how the general public's driving has deteriorated in that time. People have no respect for the law-they speed, tailgate and cut each other off regularly. I wonder where all these people are going in such a hurry. A few years back, my husband drove the big truck and I drove our pickup home. Now, the company we drive for has it's trucks limited. We can only go so fast. So I thought that I would could stop for gas and catch up to him in no time. It took me 2 HOURS to catch him. He could only drive the 65 mph limit and I was driving at 75. I learned a valuable lesson that day. It may seem as if you can outrace other vehicles regularly, but the decrease in travel time is neglible. 10 to 20 seconds at the most. Is it worth it to drive so fast and recklessly for such a small advantage? I think not.
